Jessica Dorman, June 2017
My Grandparents have a very special camp up North set back in Raquette Lake in the Adirondacks.
Almost every summer, at the end of June I enjoy a weekend, or hopefully longer up at camp. After getting poured on by rain Friday night I had just one last night to try my hand at taking photos in the dark using timed exposure and painting with light. I had never experimented before or felt I had enough knowledge to achieve such photos. Maybe that’s because when I was in college all these years ago I was using film and just couldn’t afford to make any mistakes; maybe it was that Professor Lahm actually showed us in real time how painting with light works.
